She may be little, but she is almighty talented. We were so lucky to get the opportunity to speak to superstar dancer Lexi Robertson from The Dance Company, Victoria. We spoke all things motivation, goals and dreams during what is an extremely tough year for dancers across the globe. Lexi's great attitude is one to be admired. Full Name: Lexi Grace Robertson
Date of Birth: 28/1/2010
Dance School: TDC the dance company
Who or what keeps you motivated?
My mum and all my dance teachers. I love dancing and working hard. Recently I have been working very hard on my technique and flexibility and I love to see the results I am getting.
What have you found hardest about being in quarantine and what have you been doing to keep yourself going?
I miss being in the studio and dancing in a big space. I miss performing on stage and travelling for dance. I have spent the last 4 months training at home and my dance school has provided a full timetable through zoom. Every day we are getting stronger. The best thing abou
quarantine is being able to really focus on technique and getting to work with some amazing
choreographers from America and other parts of Australia that we wouldn’t normally have access to.
What are your goals for the future and what are you doing to work towards them?
I think I will always want to dance and perform, but I would maybe like to dance with a contemporary programme overseas.
What advice do you have for other dancers who have their sights set on a goal?
Keep working hard and don’t compare yourself to others!
